Cocktail Bartender

As a Bartender at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, ensuring that all guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service. Your role involves mixing and serving drinks, maintaining a clean bar area, and providing an excellent customer experience to enhance the overall atmosphere of our establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Beverage Preparation:
   • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.
   • Ensure the bar is stocked with necessary supplies, such as spirits, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
   • Handle special requests and create custom cocktails to meet guest preferences.
2. Customer Service:
   • Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly conversation to enhance their experience.
   • Take drink orders from guests and servers, and serve drinks promptly and accurately.
   • Monitor guest behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service, adhering to legal guidelines and company policies.
3. Bar Maintenance:
   • Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware and maintaining bar equipment.
   • Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed, informing the Bar Manager of any shortages.
   • Perform regular cleaning duties, including sanitizing workstations and removing trash.
4. Cash Handling:
   • Process transactions accurately, handling cash and card payments.
   • Ensure that the cash register balances at the end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to the manager.
5. Team Collaboration:
   • Work closely with other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and a cohesive team environment.
   • Assist in training new bar staff as required.
   • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work culture.
6. Health and Safety:
   • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food and beverage handling procedures.
   • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards in line with company policy.
   • Report any health or safety concerns to the manager immediately.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Previous bartending experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.
• Mixology Knowledge: Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and beverage preparation techniques.
• Customer Focus: Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Multitasking Ability: Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate drink preparation and presentation.
